  • Don't Think Like A Seller

It’s so easy to step into the role of selling something and being pushy, but that’s the last thing that you want to do. You want to come across as an expert to your clients and yet you cannot do that if you are too “salesy” with the position you’re in. Thinking like a salesperson leads you to pitching your product at every opportunity, and it’s just not the way to do it. You want to make sure that the customers that you are looking at talking to fill your criteria in the first place. If you are intentional in your actions but not pushy, you’ll get so much further.

  • Ask Questions

You don't want to start selling off the bat and tell people that you have an amazing product, you want to ask what people are looking for. Ask about their needs and ask good questions about what your customers need. Once you do this, you can quickly assess whether your customers will be the right people to sell to.

  • Lose The Art Of Persuasion

When you take the right SDR team training, you can learn how to sell without sounding like you’re begging people to buy. Sales isn't about begging for people to approve of you enough to buy, it’s about pitching the best parts of your product and knowing that you are confident in it. Enthusiasm can often come off as insincere, so you want to have a genuine approach. Persuasion doesn't have to sound like begging: it can sound like having the right answers to diagnose key challenges.

  • Offer Value

You are an expert in the field in which you work, so you need to show that off. If you have valuable industry information you can share it with your customers and share the challenges you have observed in that industry. If you can provide value to your customers, you are going to be a naturally better salesperson.

  • Ask How You Can Solve Their Problem

Ask your customers what their problem is and then talk to them about how you can meet and improve their challenges. You can get someone to articulate their challenges and then you can gain their respect as an authority figure and do better for them as a result. If you can immediately resolve problems, you are going to impress!
