Redecorate The Walls

The walls of your office might be still in good shape even if they look outdated. Instead of taking down walls, repaint them with high-quality, long-lasting paints. If someone at your company has the artistic talent, you could paint intricate patterns or a mural for a unique touch. You can add your logo to the wall to showcase your brand too. You could also paint up some inspirational messages to motivate your staff.

Improve The Lighting

Bad lighting can make the office a worse place to work in, and can make your business less appealing to visiting clients. If you can improve the lighting, your office will feel more modern. LED, halogen, or incandescent bulbs work well for offices. Save money by ordering them in bulk. Improve the lighting more by replacing old windows with standard ones to let in more natural light.

Do The Work Yourself

Hiring a contractor is more expensive than doing the work yourself. You might be pleasantly surprised by how much you can actually do. Any major plumbing or electrical work should be left to the professionals, but more simple tasks, like fitting new sinks, painting, or replacing lightbulbs, can be done by just about anyone. For basic plumbing, you might need some instructions, and for painting, you will need the right kind of paints, brushes, and rollers. You can put up shelves yourself to add in more storage. Change your signage to something more visible. If you’re going to work on the walls or other areas at height, make sure you use safe scaffolding so it’s safe to work.

Update The Flooring

Updating the floor doesn’t have to mean you replace them entirely. It doesn’t take a major renovation to improve the look. Improve the look of floor tiles by regrouting the gaps between the tiles. Have the subfloor repaired to get rid of any squeaking noises. Another good way to make your floor look better is to give them a deep clean.

Don’t forget outside too. Replace any broken pavement slabs and resurface your parking lot if it’s seen better days. Pavement repair can make a big difference to the first impression your office makes on visitors.

Block Outside Noise

If you can hear a lot of outside noise throughout your office building, it can make it much harder for staff to concentrate and accomplish their tasks. Make sure you tightly seal any holes in the walls or gaps around the sealing of your windows to block out any unwanted noise. You can usually buy caulk and drywall materials quite cheaply to do this. You could also try budget-friendly soundproof curtains to block out noise from outside or noisy parts of the office. Window blankets can work very well to muffle outside noise that is causing distractions in the office.
